Anja Lisjak graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Ljubljana in 2013 and obtained the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. During her studies, she worked as a student veterinary assistant at the Small Animal Clinic, Veterinary faculty, University of Ljubljana. She completed an internship at the Animal Hospital Postojna, where she has been working as a veterinarian since 2013, mainly in the fields of dermatology, internal medicine, oncology and anaesthesiology.
During this time, she spent some time at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Zurich, where she worked with renowned specialists in veterinary dermatology. She regularly attended all European and worldwide dermatology congresses and also attended congresses and seminars from other fields, such as internal medicine, oncology and anaesthesiology. In 2019, she started working at the Mačja hiša small animal clinic in Koper, where she practised mainly dermatology and internal medicine. In 2020, she became one of the veterinarians at the Small Animal Clinic of the Veterinary Faculty, where she currently practises mainly dermatology and internal medicine.
She has also enrolled in a PhD programme at the University of Nova Gorica, Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology, where she is researching the oral and faecal microbiome in dogs.
