The Clinical Laboratory at Clinic for Surgery and Small Animals Medicine offers various laboratory testing in the fields of haematology, clinical chemistry, coagulation, urine analyses and blood gas analyses, as well as selected diagnostic testing for infectious diseases that affect dogs and cats. Our laboratory collaborates with other diagnostic laboratories in Slovenia and abroad to provide a wider range of laboratory testing.
Laboratory testing in the laboratory includes:
- Haematological tests
- Biochemical tests
- Urinalysis
- Coagulation tests
- Rapid immunochemistry tests for determination of selected infectious diseases of dogs and cats
- Rapid immunochemistry tests for determining increased activity of pancreatic lipase in dogs and cats
- Determination of blood groups in dogs and cats
- Blood gas analysis

From Monday to Friday, samples are accepted from 8.00 to 14.00 by laboratory personnel. A preliminary agreement via telephone +38614773301 (mr. Aleksander Jenko) is preferred. Outside of normal working hours, the Clinical Laboratory offers urgent haematological and biochemical tests that are performed by the veterinarian on duty. Rapid immunochemical tests are performed exceptionally after a preliminary telephone agreement with the veterinarian on duty. During night duty, from 22.00 to 8.00, laboratory testing is not performed for external customers; however, urgent cases are accepted.
