After completing her high school education at Poljane Gymnasium in Ljubljana, Zoja Verlič enrolled at the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Ljubljana and obtained the title of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in July 2023.
From the fourth year of her studies onwards, she worked as a student technician at the Small Animal Clinic of the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Ljubljana. Among other activities, she also volunteered in the department of diagnostic imaging.
In 2022, she participated in an Erasmus+ exchange program in Ghent, Belgium, where she gained three months of experience at a university clinic in the fields of internal medicine, neurology, orthopedics, and anesthesia for small animals, horses, and ruminants. In February 2023, she completed a two-month internship in Denmark at a horse clinic, where she gained experience in equine internal medicine and orthopedics.
During the summers of 2019 and 2023, she spent time in Africa, working under the mentorship of experienced veterinarians in providing veterinary care for abandoned dogs and cats. Additionally, she collaborated with wildlife veterinarians, gaining valuable experience in the general medicine of African wildlife.
Since September 2023, Zoja Verlič has been employed at the Small Animal Clinic in the Oncology Department as an assistant in the field of oncology for small animals. In addition to her clinical work, she is also involved in the educational activities of the clinic.
