Manca Novak

Manca Novak graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ljubljana in 2023. During her studies, she participated in a one-year study exchange at the Universidad Complutense Madrid, where she volunteered at the exotic animal unit under the mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Enrique González González. During her six-month exchanges at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Wroclaw and the Veterinary University in Budapest, she began to focus on surgery, ultrasound diagnostics, ECG and zoo medicine. During her studies, she improved her clinical skills in equine surgery through a month-long internship at the Veterinary Faculty in Vienna. Additionally, under the mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Vladimira Erjavec, PhD, she conducted research on tracheal collapse and stent materials in dogs. The results were presented at the 8th International Symposium of Socratic Lectures (2023) at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Health Sciences, in a contribution titled: Materials of absorbable tracheal stents and their potential use for treatment of canine tracheal collapse (8th International Symposium, Socratic Lectures , 2023, 23-29).

After completing her studies, she volunteered at the surgical unit of Windsor Hospital Penang, Malaysia, worked as a veterinarian at the non-profit organization Floating Doctors in Panama, and at the Veterinary Clinic Koper. In 2026, she became an intern at the Department of Surgery of the Small Animal Clinic, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ljubljana.
