After graduating from high school, Žiga Žgank enrolled in undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ljubljana in 2008 and graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. After graduating from college he started to work as a veteriarian in a mixed-animal practice in the Veterinary center Celje in January 2015, working with small and large animals. Wishing to work exclusively with small animals, he got employed at the Private veterinary center Lipej-Šerbec in Krško in October 2015 and in October 2018 he joined the team of veterinarians at the Pika veterinary center in Maribor.
He is currently employed as a Teaching Assistant and surgeon at the Surgery Department of the Small Animal Clinic of the Veterinary Faculty, University of Ljubljana since November 2019.
He regularly attends trainings and educational meetings in Slovenia and abroad.
