Teja Dimec graduated from the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Ljubljana in 2024, obtaining the title of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. During her studies, she volunteered at various private veterinary clinics across Slovenia, and in her final year, she worked as a veterinary technician at a private veterinary clinic in Pesnica. During her senior year, she spent three months at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Lisbon as part of the Erasmus+ program, where she gained clinical experience in cardiology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, surgery and internal medicine.
In 2025, she joined the team of the Small Animal Clinic at the Veterinary Faculty, University of Ljubljana, where she completed a one-year clinical internship specializing in small animal surgery. In October 2025, she enrolled in the interdisciplinary doctoral program Biomedicine. As a Junior Researcher under the mentorship of Senior Research Associate Tanja Plavec, DVM, PhD, she focuses her research on the fields of oncology and oncological surgery in dogs and cats.
